So,
What's in a Healthy Relationship?
We
all have things in life that are stressful.
Some stresses are minor and easy to deal with;
while others are huge and can overwhelm us. Obviously one of the
biggest stressors we all share is being HIV+ and it certainly can
be a long-term stressor. For some of us, it's the only thing we
can think of. For others, it's 48 th thing down the list of daily
stressors.
In
any case, we're inviting you to participate in building a group
discussion.
During
this two-day workshop, we'll guide you in learning some good communication
skills around it.
Sessions
will talk about some of those stressful aspects
of
being HIV+. Things, like:
Ways to talk with Family & Friends
Disclose to a Sex Partner
Help you build long-lasting, and Healthy Relationships
Two
facilitators will run each group.
One
facilitator is EAF Case Manager, Sarah Fanucci; the other, EAF Staff
member, Scott Bertani, an HIV-positive peer.
Healthy
Relationships is more focused on communication skills than a support
group.
You'll
also learn some good problem-solving and decision-making skills
that can be used in managing daily stressors with HIV and how to
negotiate lifestyle choices.
In
a Healthy Relationships group, we'll help you learn concrete skills
through observation and discussion with others—not to mention by
watching and discussing a few fun film clips.
